The Long Game of God - A Quick Read by #rjnmore

Being used by God is not about speed, visibility, or validation, it is about timing, preparation, and stewardship. This reflection explores why delay is not denial, how God works beyond what we can see, and why His purpose unfolds with precision rather than haste.

Never lose sight of the truth that being used by God is a gift, not an entitlement. Calling is not a reward for effort, nor is purpose something we earn through visibility or recognition. It is given, and entrusted, according to God’s wisdom not human standards.

We live in a world conditioned to demand proof. Metrics. Milestones. Immediate confirmation. We are taught to measure value by speed and success by what can be displayed. Yet God is not confined to what can be seen in the moment. He does not rush to satisfy public opinion or bend to the pressure of instant validation. Scripture and history alike reveal a consistent pattern: God is always playing the long game.

Consider your own breakthrough. It did not arrive early, nor did it arrive late. It came at the precise moment it needed to. Not when you first asked. Not when you felt most ready. But when your life, capacity, and calling could sustain what was being released. That timing was not accidental, it was intentional.

Oftentimes, we mistake delay for denial or silence for absence. But God’s work is rarely loud in its early stages. Foundations are laid quietly. Character is refined privately. Strength is developed in obscurity. What looks like waiting is often preparation unfolding beneath the surface.

Life, then, is not a collection of random events. Every intersection, every delay, every redirection, and every unexpected encounter carries purpose. When you step back and reflect, patterns begin to emerge. Seemingly unrelated seasons connect. Lessons gained in hardship inform future responsibility. Experiences once questioned become essential.

Multiple perspectives, seasons, and moments converge to shape something exact. Nothing excessive. Nothing premature. Nothing missing. That level of precision reveals how thorough God truly is. Nothing is wasted. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is overlooked.

What you couldn’t see then was never evidence of absence. It was evidence of preparation.

And when the moment arrives, when the door opens, when the assignment becomes clear, you realize the waiting did not delay the promise. It protected it.

Trust the process. Honor the timing. And remain grateful, knowing that being used by God is not something to claim, it is something to steward.
