Where There Is a Will

Where There Is a Will

“Where there is a will, there is a way.”

We’ve heard that saying our whole lives.

It has inspired entrepreneurs to build businesses, athletes to break records, and dreamers to pursue what others said was impossible. Determination is a powerful thing. God created us with the ability to persevere, endure hardship, and pursue a vision with unwavering resolve.

But here is the question we do not ask often enough:

Whose will is leading the way?

Not every open door is meant to be walked through.

Not every opportunity is a blessing.

Not every path that feels right ends in life.

The world teaches us to follow our hearts. Scripture teaches us to guard them. The world tells us to chase whatever makes us happy. God invites us to pursue what makes us holy.

Those are two very different journeys.

Our desires can be influenced by comfort, pride, fear, comparison, or impatience. Left unchecked, they may lead us away from the purpose we were created to fulfill.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6

Notice the promise is not that we will always understand the path.

The promise is that He will direct it.

There is a peace that comes from surrendering your plans to God.

It is the kind of peace that remains even when circumstances do not make sense. It gives you the confidence to keep walking when you cannot yet see the destination because you know the One leading you has already been there.

When your will begins to align with His, something remarkable happens.

Success is no longer defined by applause.

Purpose outweighs popularity.

Obedience becomes more valuable than recognition.

Your prayers begin to change from:

“God, bless my plans.”

to

“Lord, reveal Yours.”

That is not giving up your dreams.

It is allowing the Creator to refine them.

God has never been in the business of destroying purpose. He authored it. Sometimes He redirects us not because our dreams are too big, but because they are too small compared to what He has prepared.

Think about Abraham.

Moses.

David.

Peter.

Paul.

None of them ended up where they expected.

Yet every detour in God’s hands became part of a greater story.

The same can be true for us.

There is no greater place for your ambition than the will of God.

No safer place for your future.

No stronger foundation for your family.

No greater fulfillment than knowing you are walking in the purpose for which you were created.

Before you ask God to open another door, ask Him to shape your heart.

Before you ask Him to make a way, ask Him whether it is His way.

Because when your will aligns with His, purpose becomes clearer, peace becomes steadier, and the path before you is no longer directed by emotion, but by truth.

May your will lie with the One who created life.

Stay blessed, and as always, proceed in faith and keep moving forward.

“Not my will, but thine, be done.”
— Luke 22:42 KJV
